Privacy Notice.

Agent Memory is designed as a local-first memory layer. This notice explains what the app stores locally, what the website may collect, and what changes when you connect hosted assistants.

Privacy Notice

The short version

Agent Memory does not need a hosted account to index and search your files. By default, your selected files, chunks, embeddings, profile guidance, skills configuration, sessions, and manual notes stay on your computer. The app is built around a local API and local storage, not a hosted memory service.

Who we are

Agent Memory is provided by so.design. Privacy questions can be sent to hello@agentmemory.cc.

Local app data

When you use the desktop app, Agent Memory stores data in your local application data folder. This may include source names, selected file paths, text chunks, embeddings, model metadata, user profile guidance, manual notes, session context, skill status, and local agent registration details.

Files you choose to index

Agent Memory only indexes folders, files, or notes you select or submit through the local API. You remain responsible for the legality, confidentiality, and sensitivity of that content. You can delete the local data folder or remove sources to stop using the stored index.

Local API access

The app exposes a local API on 127.0.0.1. Other tools on your machine may access memory if you connect them. Keep the API local, protect your computer account, and avoid exposing the port to other machines or the public internet.

Hosted assistants and external tools

If you connect a hosted assistant, browser automation, external script, or cloud service, that tool may receive snippets from Agent Memory and process them under its own terms and privacy policy. Agent Memory does not control what those connected tools do with information you send to them.

Model downloads

The default embedding model may be downloaded on first use and cached locally. That download request may reveal ordinary technical request metadata to the model host, such as IP address and user-agent information, but Agent Memory does not send your indexed file contents as part of that model download.

Website data

The marketing website may receive ordinary hosting logs and email enquiries you send to hello@agentmemory.cc. Payment, checkout, licensing, analytics, email, or support services may be added over time and will be governed by their own terms and notices where used.

Telemetry

The desktop app is not designed to send file contents, embeddings, queries, profile guidance, source paths, or skill content to so.design by default. If future diagnostics, crash reporting, update checks, or licence verification are added, the product should clearly identify what is sent and why.

Retention

Local memory remains on your computer until you remove sources, delete notes, uninstall and remove the data folder, or otherwise erase it. Email enquiries and commercial records may be retained for ordinary business, accounting, support, security, and legal purposes.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information held by so.design by contacting hello@agentmemory.cc. Local app data is under your control on your own machine.

Security

Agent Memory is designed to reduce cloud exposure by keeping memory local. You still need to secure your device, operating system account, backups, synced folders, connected agents, and any cloud AI provider you choose to use.

Changes

This notice may be updated as the product, checkout, update, licensing, or support systems evolve. The date at the top shows the current version.
